Racing has always been apart of the Texter name. Shayna's Grandfather Ray "Tex" Texter started racing when he was a young adult and later had a son named, Randy who would carry on the Texter racing tradition. Shayna's Father Randy went on to become a very successful motorcycle racer on both the pavement and dirt. He was a two-time AMA US Twins Sports Champion on the pavement and carried a national number in AMA Flat Track for many seasons.

In 1988, Shayna's older brother Cory was born. Cory has had some success in racing as well. He is a multi-time amateur national champion and a winner in multiple professional series on the dirt including wins in the AMA Expert Twins series and the AMA All-Star series. He is also a professional license holder in AMA Pro Road Racing and an avid motocross rider.

Racing on four wheels is also a big part of Shayna's family as her Grandfather, Glenn Fitzcharles is one of the all-time top car drivers on the east coast. He is a 5-time URC Sprint Car champion with 80 career wins in the series (all-time leader) and a current member of the Sprint Car Hall of Fame in Knoxville, Iowa.

Shayna started riding a motorcycle at four years old. It was tough for her to start racing at a young age because of the active career her father had in AMA Pro Racing. Shayna played soccer up until the 2003 season. Cory would start racing full-time that season. After watching her brother for only three races, Shayna decided she wanted to line up and give it a try on a TTR-125. She won her first race. A couple weeks later she was on a more powerful YZ85. She won that race. By the end of her first season, Shayna was racing an 85, 125, 250, and her brother's 450 and it wasn't uncommon for her to win all four classes in one day. The rest is history..

Over the years, Shayna has been establishing herself as one of the top competitors in the sport. She wants other female riders to know that anything is possible and don't let the fact that you are a female hold you back.
